What causes snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)?

Snoring-apnea is much more than a simple nuisance, and usually is not very pleasant even for those who snore or especially for those who have to suffer. Below you will find simple solutions to reduce noise pollution. However, any breathing problems should be examined by a specialist (ENT, pulmonologist).

Snoring is mainly due to:

  1. gender (men snore more than the women),
  2. age (occurs mainly in middle-aged people),
  3. heredity
  4. the increase in weight,
  5. smoking
  6. taking alcohol,
  7. chronic obstructive rhinitis,
  8. the anomalies in the construction of the nose,
  9. colds in which swollen tonsils, and in general, the area of the mouth and throat,

  11. the crooked nasal septum,
  12. pregnancy.

10 ways to get rid of Snoring-Apnea

  1. Cut the alcohol. Avoid the use of alcohol and drugs that impair breathing, such as hypnotics and sedatives.
  2. Stop smoking. It reduces the chances of inflammation in the airways.
  3. Be careful how much you eat. Don't overdo the consumption of food, always in reasonable portions, and two to three hours before you go to sleep.
  4. Work out. Improves the respiratory system, reducing the chances of snoring and apnea.
